About Us

About John Rodriguez, Director of Therapy

John was in Who's Who in American Junior Colleges (Alvin Jr. College, 1970). After receiving his B.A. (Stephen F. Austin, 1972), he worked for Naval Security, graduating with honors from the Defense Language Institute (Monterey, CA 1975).

John received his first sports massage in 1986 while competing in Triathlons and Road Races. He did not pursue massage as a business until after a couple of good experiences with the clothes on, focused techniques we call Neuromuscular Therapy. John began taking clients in 1989. In 1998 he began leasing space to other therapists who have an interest in Neuromuscular Therapy.

John began working with Carl Lewis and other members of the Santa Monica Track club in 1993, traveling to the World Championships (Stuttgart Germany, 1993 and Goteborg, Sweden, 1995), the Goodwill Games (St. Petersburg, Russia, 1994) and to the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. John also worked at the 2000 USA Olympic Trials in Sacramento.

Ellen and John celebrate Carl Lewis' appearance on the Wheaties Box.
